legitimate?
Yes. SMEC AI is a government-funded AI Adopt centre run by Boab AI Pty Ltd (ABN 60 640 047 007). It is listed with the AI Adopt Centres on business.gov.au. The AI Information Line is 1800 517 403. Adopt support is free for eligible businesses. SMEC AI does not ask for payment to use the Information Line, the 45-minute consult, or the self-service tools.

What a fake message does
Treat a message as fake when it uses another ABN, another phone number, or asks you to pay before you can call. SMEC AI will not ask for a bank password, and it will not say a grant is waiting if you pay a fee. Optional paid work, the AI Audit at $1,000 and medical automation at $7k to $15k, is named up front and is not required. The Information Line and the consult are not legal, financial, or tax advice, and SMEC AI takes no commissions.
